Collin Street, Nottingham
- Start: 4 June 2018
- End: 30 September 2018
On Sunday 22 July there will be a lane closure on Wilford Street northbound and no left turn onto Castle Boulevard. This will be in place 8am – 1pm, traffic will divert around the car park demolition site Collin Street/Middle Hill/Canal Street.
The eastern section of Collin Street, running alongside intu Broadmarsh beyond the traffic lights, is actually a bridge over a section of intu Broadmarsh shopping centre. In preparation for the major works at the shopping centre and construction of the new car park and bus station, the renewal of waterproofing on Collin Street will ensure works can take place without the need for additional road closures.
Works will start on Monday 4 June 7.30am – 5pm and will last until the end of September.
How will this affect traffic?
The amount of traffic passing through Collin Street and the Broadmarsh area has been taken into account when scheduling these works, and means that no lanes of traffic will be removed during the four-month programme of works so that the impact on drivers and help keep Nottingham moving while the works take place.
Additionally working over summer means we have longer hours and, hopefully, drier weather to work in at a time when the roads tend to be quieter, meaning the work can be done over a longer period and with less disruption.
- Several bus stops have been moved to allow for the works – details of which can be found here.
- Pavements on Middle Hill will be closed during the works – please use signed diversions.
