Wilford Street, Greyfriar Gate and Canal Street
- Start: 4 June 2018
- End: 30 September 2018
Preparatory works on the roads in the Broadmarsh area continue over summer with works due to start on Maid Marian Way, Wilford Street and Albion and Melville Street.
- Works on Maid Marian Way will start on Monday 4 June and take place outside Nottingham College, removing the existing traffic island and laying new kerblines in preparation for the new road layout as part of the Broadmarsh redevelopment programme.
- The works on Wilford Street start on the same date and will mostly be done on the pavement, leaving the junction with Castle Boulevard clear. These works will widen the entrance to Wilford Street, creating an additional southbound lane for traffic in the future.
- Finally, the works on Albion and Melville Street will start at the beginning of July to join up the two roads and create an entrance to the Castle Car Park from Canal Street.
How will this affect traffic?
Roadworks will take place off peak, Monday to Friday (9.30am-3.30pm) with occasional weekend work so as to reduce disruption on traffic coming through a busy area of Nottingham.
