30 November

What’s happening?
This Friday 1 December Nottingham will be proudly hosting the first public appearance of HRH Prince Harry and Meghan Markle following the announcement of their engagement earlier this week.
The couple will be arriving at the Nottingham Contemporary at 11am to visit the Terrence Higgins World Aids Day charity fair.
Which roads are affected?
To support the couple’s visit the following roads will be closed from 9am until 1pm:
Hollow Stone
High Pavement
St Mary’s Gate
Middle Hill
Weekday Cross
Fletcher Gate
From 9am onwards, there will be no inward access to the Lace Market car park until the roads reopen at 1pm. Those already in the car park will be able to exit via the northern section of Fletcher Gate and then Warser Gate.
Public Transport
We are working to ensure that bus and tram services will be unaffected, however the police may decide to suspend services on Middle Hill in the interests of public safety if there are larger-than-expected crowds. Please follow @MyNottingham on social media for more information on this.
