How to get to Goose Fair 2025

September 16, 2025

Nottingham’s famous Goose Fair opens at 4pm at the Forest Recreation Ground on Friday 26 September and continues until Sunday 5 October.

One of the easiest ways to access the site is to take the tram to The Forest stop, which drops you right outside. Trams run frequently throughout the day and late into the evening to and from Hucknall and Phoenix Park to the north, and from Clifton and Beeston (taking in Nottingham railway station and city-centre stops) from the south and west respectively.

There are additional park-and-ride options at Moor Bridge and Wilkinson Street, but bear in mind that the Forest car park will close for the duration of Goose Fair from 6pm on Sunday (21 September).

NET’s £10 Group ticket allows all-day travel on weekends, and after 4pm on weekdays, for five people (one or two adults and up to three children). The Group ticket is £14 on weekdays from 6am-4pm.

See more information about the tram here, including specific detail on timetables here

If you’re travelling to Goose Fair on the bus and tram, a Robin Hood Ticket – which covers all of the city – is a great option: On the Bus/Tram Tickets – Robin Hood Network

Bus

Journeys can be planned via NCT or Trent Barton buses. Single adult fares are £3, or for just £9 the Grouprider ticket allows unlimited day travel on all NCT buses in the City Zone for up to five people (maximum two adults). The trentbarton zigzag group ticket allows unlimited day travel on trentbarton buses for £18 (up to five people).

NCT will run frequent services on the Yellow, Brown, Purple, and Lime routes, stopping on Mansfield Road at Forest Gate.

Car

Blue Badge event parking is available for £10 per car at the Forest Recreation Ground. There is no other public vehicle parking permitted on site. Visitors are not permitted to park on residential streets in the area – this will be strictly enforced with extra patrols planned this year.

Visitors can use city centre car parks including Trinity Square, Victoria Centre, Q Park Talbot Street, Crowne Plaza Wollaton Street, Lace Market and Broad Marsh. It takes approximately 30 minutes to walk to the Forest Recreation Ground from the city centre.

Cycling

Visitors can travel to Goose Fair via bicycle or on a Lime e-bike, which can be hired through the Lime app, available from the App Store or Google Play. Alternatively, e-scooters are another option this year – see here for more information.
