In March, the Government announced the creation of the 4.8bn Levelling Up Fund, with the aim of investing in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK.
The fund is designed to support town centre and high street regeneration, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets.
Nottingham City Council has submitted a bid for the following:
- Pedestrian and cycle improvements to streets in residential areas
- Measures to reduce traffic around schools
- Improved access to local centres, including upgraded street lighting
