Travelling to Nottingham Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland is open at Old Market Square until Wednesday 31 December.

With Christmas market stalls, the Sky Skate Ice Path and ice rink, Ice Bar, Sur La Piste and Altitude chalet bars, and Observation Wheel, the attraction is expected to welcome 1 million visitors into the city this festive season.

How to get to Winter Wonderland:

Tram

There are 5,000 free parking spaces available at seven park and ride sites across the tram network. The tram stops at Old Market Square right next to Winter Wonderland. Group day tickets are £10 (for 1 or 2 adults and up to 3 children) on weekends, school holidays, and weekdays after 4pm.

From the M1 North head to Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS) which is a 20 minute journey to Old Market Square. From the M1 South head to Toton Lane (NG9 7JB) which is a 30 minute journey to Old Market Square, or to Clifton South, which is a 30 minute journey to Old Market Square.

Bus

Journeys can be planned via Nottingham City Transport or trentbarton buses. Please note that bus services will end earlier on 24 and 31 December, check your journey before you travel.

  • In the east of the city, Colwick Racecourse Park & Ride (NG2 4BG) is serviced by NCT’s 44 and 50 services. Colwick Park & Ride closes at 8.30pm.
    Queens Drive Park & Ride (NG2 1AP) is served by the Medilink and NCT’s 49 bus services. Queen’s Drive is open from 4.30am to 10.30pm Monday to Friday, 6am to 8.30pm on Saturdays, and is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
    Single adult fares are £3, or for just £9 the Grouprider ticket allows unlimited day travel on all NCT buses in the City Zone for up to 5 people (max 2 adults). The trentbarton zigzag group ticket allows unlimited day travel on trentbarton buses for £18 (up to 5 people).
  • The National Express main interchange is at Broad Marsh Bus & Coach Station

Car

Visitors can use city centre car parks including Lace Market, Trinity Square, Broad Marsh, Victoria Centre, Q Park Talbot Street, and Crowne Plaza Wollaton Street.

It’s now just £4.50 to park all day at Broad Marsh car park on a Saturday or Sunday until 1 February 2026. That means you could head to Broad Marsh at 9am and park until 11.30pm and pay just £4.50.

Please note that Lace Market and Trinity Square car parks fill up quickly as we approach Christmas.

Please check your journey via google maps or another journey planning app before you travel for the best route which will help you take into account any active roadworks or accidents.

Train

Old Market Square is a 12 minute walk from Nottingham Train Station.

Bike

E-bikes can be hired through the Lime app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

E-scooter

E-scooters can be hired through the Dott app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

Coach

If you’re travelling in a group by coach, there are six coach drop-off points in the city centre
