Women in Tandem
Women in Tandem are a women-led community bike shop. All profits go to support projects that empower women through cycling.
They offer:

British Cycling Breeze rides
Breeze rides are fun, free and inclusive bike rides for women of all abilities across the UK. It doesn’t matter if you’re young at heart, wise beyond your years, or baffled by gears. Every woman is welcome on a Breeze ride! You’ll discover new places to ride, gain confidence in a group, make new friends – all whilst having a lot of fun.

Grit Grrrls
Grit Grrrls is a Nottingham-based cycling community creating a supportive and inclusive space for women and non-binary people to build confidence and enjoy riding together. They run relaxed, no-drop group rides focused on connection, confidence, and making cycling feel more accessible and enjoyable.

British Cycling family drop in sessions
British Cycling and Nottingham City Council are in partnership to deliver community cycling activities for all abilities. We have a programme of cycling activity at a variety of locations, look at our webpage to find out where your friendly British Cycling coaches will be next!
Ridewise cycle training
Ridewise are a local charity that are dedicated to helping communities to get to the places and people that are important to them by walking, cycling and public transport. With regular free community bike rides, bike repair and cycle confidence sessions, Ridewise can help you and your family to cycle safely and confidently across the city. The Renewal Trust is a Nottingham based charity helping to support local communities and unlock potential through community activities, health and wellbeing and activating local spaces and so much more.

There are a variety of off-road facilities and spaces for the whole family to enjoy cycling.
- Kids cycle track – Victoria Embankment
- Cycle pump track – Queens Drive Park & Ride
- Closed Circuit Cycle Track at Harvey Hadden Sports Village
- Colwick Country Park
- The Big Track – 10 miles of off-road cycle and walking route following the Canal and River Trent – you can ride the whole route or shorter sections, see the map here.

Travel Well
Nottingham City Council’s Travel Well project aims to help support people to build activity into their daily lives for lasting healthy changes. The aim is to support people to become more active, manage mental and physical wellbeing, manage long-term health conditions or address social isolation.
The activities include, led walks, Nordic walking, community walks as well as learn to ride, cycle confidence and group cycle rides to name a few. These sessions are free.
