Improvements are planned for Manvers Street and the Daleside Road Roundabout. This scheme forms part of a wider project to improve active travel connections to and from the new Waterside bridge at Trent Basin and the city centre.
The proposal is split into two phases with the first phase including a 3-metre shared use path along the southern side of the pavement on Manvers Street. This will connect with the existing cycle path on City Link, providing a direct route into the city centre.
This then helps connect areas in the City such as Colwick Park, Sneinton and the Lady Bay Retail Park with areas in Rushcliffe including the Hook, Lady Bay and Holme Pierrepont. It will also provide connections with key areas such as Nottingham Station and the City Centre. The second phase focuses on improvements at the roundabout.

Phase 1: Manvers Street Bridge western footway widening.
Start: Works programmed to start 19th October and will complete before December.
Impact on traffic: On completion of the works there will be no impact on traffic. The footpath widening is achieved by slighting narrowing the existing lane widths. During construction there will be limited impacts as the nearside lane will be coned off during off-peak periods to provide safe working space.
Phase 2 focuses on improving the cycling facilities and upgrading the signalling equipment on Daleside Round Roundabout. A new wider refuge is included at the junction of Manvers Street and Meadow Lane, across the entrance to Lady Bay Retail Park to help improve safety and visibility. Additionally, upgrades are to be carried out to the crossings between Meadow Lane and the central island, central crossing on Daleside Road, the northern and southern sides of Daleside Road as well as Manvers Street. Finally, enhancements are to be made to the northern path of the roundabout island.
Phase 2: Manvers Street/ Daleside Road/ Meadow Lane roundabout.
Start: Works are programmed to commence in the new year – more detail will be provided in advance.
