Nottingham to host Electric Vehicle Showcase in Old Market Square

April 21, 2026

Previous event – Old Market Square, 2018

Residents and businesses in Nottingham can discover more about owning an electric vehicle (EV) and sustainable transport next month as the city hosts an exciting and free EV showcase.

Organised by Nottingham City Council in partnership with Let’s Experience Electric, the showcase will take place at the Old Market Square on Saturday 2 May, from 10am to 4pm, and will showcase the growing range of EVs available. The EV showcase will allow people to explore some of the benefits of EV adoption, book a future test drive and learn more about other sustainable transport solutions, including e-bikes and e-scooters.

With fuel costs on the rise and more people considering EVs, now could be the perfect time to find out how easy it can be to make the switch to electric travel. Visitors will have the opportunity to speak to dealers, ask questions and learn from industry experts about the latest advancements in EV technology, including charging infrastructure, to help support the transition to zero-emission, battery electric vehicles, whether for home or work.

Confirmed brands so far include Volvo, Tesla, BYD, Vauxhall, Cupra, Ford, Changan, Xpeng, MG, Toyota, Lexus, BMW and Mini with more planned. The display also covers small and larger vans, Dott e-scooters, e-bikes from Lime and Raleigh, one of the world’s oldest and best-known bike brands. An exciting range of electric vehicles of all shapes and sizes will be on display from local dealerships, to suit all budgets. There will also be a fun activity for children to participate in.

The event is free, open to everyone and there’s no need to book in advance.

Councillor Linda Woodings, Executive Member for Regional Development, Growth and Transport at Nottingham City Council, said: “We’re delighted to bring this free EV showcase to Nottingham, giving residents the chance to see first-hand how electric vehicles and sustainable transport can fit into everyday life. Events like this are key to helping our city move towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Andy Lewis at Let’s Experience Electric said: “We are pleased to be working with Nottingham City Council to restart these EV Showcases in Nottingham. Come along and see a complete range of electric cars, vans, e-bikes, e-scooters all in one place and ask yourself the question – given the rising uncertainty around fuel costs, is now the time to find out is full EV, or a Hybrid, going to be my next vehicle?”
