Nottingham City Council made improvements to bus lanes along the A609 Wollaton Road between Crown Island and St Peter’s Street.
Work included:
- Creating a new 7am – 7pm bus lane inbound (Monday – Friday)
The new and upgraded bus lanes help with bus times and reliability. Traffic modelling has shown that the bus lanes do not have a negative impact on the rest of the traffic flows, but they do improve journey times for bus passengers.
Funding for this came from the Government’s Bus Service Improvement Plan – a pot of money designed to help upgrade public transport provision in the city. Whilst working in this area, Nottingham City Council did some flood prevention works.
