Road closures to affect A52 QMC roundabout

September 26, 2024

(updated at 10am on Thursday 10 October)
National Highways has provided a further update about planned works due to affect the A52 QMC roundabout.
As part of its project to repair the damaged bridge on the northern section (pictured), a full weekend closure was originally planned of a number of roads from 8pm on Friday 4 October to 6am on Monday 7 October. This was then moved back to this weekend.
However, National Highways has now announced that due to the impact on a planned open day at the University of Nottingham on Saturday (12), the works will now take place from 8pm on Friday 18 October to 6am on Monday 21 October.
They will enable engineers to safely cut and remove the parapet on the edge of the bridge and drill anchors for a replacement beam. A crane will stand on Middleton Boulevard to facilitate this work.
The A52 eastbound from Priory roundabout to QMC, the northern section of the QMC roundabout and Middleton Boulevard all need to be closed for the safety of road users and the workforce.
National Highways has urged drivers to allow extra time for their journeys and to follow signed diversions.
More details are here, including a map showing alternative routes.
