Electric Vehicles

We are supporting our local citizens and businesses to make the switch to driving electric vehicles.

Our work at a glance:

  • D2N2 EV Charging Network – installing over 800 charge point sockets at a range of locations across the region
  • Exploring further opportunities to make electric vehicle charging more convenient and accessible, including improving charging options in residential areas
  • Workplace Travel Service – providing advice to businesses to support more sustainable travel choices, including grants for electric vehicle charge points
  • Leading by example, turning the Council’s fleet green – introducing the UK’s first fully electric sweeper, cage tipper and minibus, as well as achieving a world first with electric bin lorries
