Essential repairs on Hucknall Road

Road repairs

Nottingham City Council will soon be carrying out essential road repairs on Hucknall Road. Work will start on Monday 9 April and take around four days to complete.

Resurfacing will take place from the junction of Arnold Road to Gala Way between 9am and 4pm, with Hucknall Road remaining open to through traffic. However, temporary traffic lights will be in operation, so drivers and bus users are advised to allow extra time for any journeys. The work has been timetabled to take place during the school holidays when there is less traffic on the roads to keep disruption to a minimum.

On-street parking will be restricted within the works area between 8am and 4pm each day and notices will be placed as a reminder of these restrictions at least 24 hours before they come into effect.

Councillor Sally Longford, Nottingham City Council’s portfolio holder for Neighbourhood Services and Local Transport, said:

This work is part of an annual programme to maintain the condition of the city’s roads. Hucknall Road is in need of attention so we are acting now to undertake essential repairs to improve the road surface and help keep Nottingham Moving.

“The work has been scheduled off peak and during the Easter holidays to lessen the impact on traffic, but we apologise if any inconvenience is caused while repairs are taking place.

“We will be returning in the summer during the school holidays to continue with maintenance to the road surface on Hucknall Road, and this work will take place over a longer period of time.”
