Try a Tram Day

Refurbished tram at the Wilkinson Street tram depot

We’re working with NET to host a Try a Tram Day for school pupils and disability groups. The event will be held at Hucknall Park and Ride on the 17 October between 10am and 2pm.

Try a Tram Day hopes to increase the accessibility to public transport services in Nottingham and help people build the skills and confidence to use the tram. During the day, groups will be able to spend time with the Public Transport team at Nottingham City Council and staff from NET. In these sessions, groups will learn all about the tram as well as important and vital skills that make travelling on the tram more safe for everyone.

Important information and skills that the groups will learn include…

🎫 how to buy a ticket from the ticket machines

💳 how to scan their travel card or concessionary card on the card readers on the platform

🚆 how to board the tram safely

🚉 how to cross across the tram tracks safely

📞 how to ask for help when on the tram

🆘 how to ask for help when on the tram platform

♿️ how to get on the tram if they are a wheelchair user
